How do I make a QR code?
I like qrstuff.com, but you can just Google QR code generator, and choose from the many options you have.
QR Code Tips
- The longer the URL or text is, the more complex the QR code gets, which makes it more difficult to scan. Be brief with your text, or if you are linking to a URL, use a URL shortener, like goo.gl, to simplify the QR code.
- If students experience difficulty scanning a QR code, they may need to adjust their angle. Sometimes colors or lamination can affect a QR code's ability to scan.
- As a back up, it's often a good idea to provide the QR code as well as the URL (again, shorten it if necessary), so students have the option of typing in the URL if they can't get a good scan.
- If you want to keep the QR code the same, but have it link to different sites (for example, have a QR code posted in your classroom that links to an extra credit assignment, but the assignment periodically changes), you might check out Deliver
- A great website for recording audio is Vocaroo.com. You don't have to have an account, and once you record your audio, it provides a URL with embed or email options, and there's even a spot to click to generate a QR code right there!
